Okay, this confirms it: if you're going to mix ink and watercolor, apply the watercolor first, unless you're really careful in applying it and intend to stay within the lines. Of course, I meant the blue as a background, so of course it had to go over the lines. I went back over the line-work again after the paint dried, and I think it muddles up the line. At first, I thought it looked all right, I expected the ink to run, and it created some nice streaking effects. Unfortunately, it ended up outright hiding some of the line, hence the do-over.
This is on a strip of board cut from the larger watercolor pad that TECHNOMEGA was painted on. It just barely fits on the scanner's bed, so the next two might have to be trimmed every so slightly.

This is pretty cool.
I like the way the line zigzags like a labyrinth (that must've been difficult to trace! :0 ), and I especially like the way it bleeds at the top. That purple-blue color is so bright.
