Not much to say on this one except that I wanted to experiment with green on white to see how it would look in negative.
I don't think it works; you really need the right shade of green to "switch over" to a strong red. I remember once using my cameraphone in a craft store to see how well various colors of ink would look in negative (I love in-camera effects, why don't more manufacturers put them in?), but wasn't really happy with any of them. This particular green is from a watercolor set I bought about about two years ago.
I'd actually used it a few days ago to try out the salt technique, where you sprinkle a few grains of salt onto a patch of still-wet watercolor. It's supposed to create a kind of starry texture, but I never got it to work. I ended up using the other side of that canvas to make The 437th Day [link] which does look very similar to this the more I look at it. I did have a companion piece to that one in mind, turning it into a kind of quasi-narrative, but I make no promises on a completion date.

I could not very easily explain to you why I like this, but it looks really cool. The red and blue's slightly off the normal tone seems eye-catching, and it is neat that the blue box looks like a text box, too.
