Goodbye, Blue Skies

I'd actually made this background some time ago, but I wasn't sure what I'd use it for. If anything, it was just a texturing exercise with the (then) new blue ink. Then one day, I'd just got this idea about how the ink fades through each layer of parchment, and how it really does create this sort of visual fading echo the farther down you go. Normally, I just use the second layer since it looks more "lived in" than the top layer.

If the title sounds like an afterthought, that's only because it is, but, if the chance to make a Floyd reference presents itself, it's practically criminal not to take it.

This is also the debut (though not a very obvious one) of my new corner rounder (so you don't have to see the perforations of the Moleskine watercolor books I use). I love those little things; fantastic for making bookmarks.
